Troy Track & Field Project

Alumni Letter

TASD Crest logo To my fellow Troy High School alumni.

For the first time since the commencement of the track and field program, Troy School District has built a track. As an alumnus, former track and field athlete, and current volunteer coach, I am extremely excited about all the opportunities this endeavor is going to bring to our school district and the community. We will now be able to have practices on a surface safe for our students, host track invitationals and league meets, increase class options for physical education classes, and offer a safe exercise area to the entire Troy community.

I am writing to you because we need your help. The school board has agreed to pay for everything that will be necessary to have a meet. They have tasked a group of alumni and parents to come together to raise money for the extras. We are raising funds for bleachers; a building that will be used for storage, concessions, and bathroom facilities; and money for future maintenance and upkeep of the facility. If you have it in your heart to give back to your school, there are many ways in which you can leave your mark. In front of the concession stand, we will be building a brick plaza. You can purchase a brick, have it engraved, and placed in the plaza. If you would prefer to give a monetary donation only, simply send a check to the Troy School District business office with “track project” noted on the check. If you plan to give a donation of $2500.00 or more, there are several different giving levels in which we can honor and thank you for your generosity. I have attached all the forms to our website for you to review and are available in the left hand navigation bar. If you would like to see pictures of the building progress, the school district has graciously posted them to their website at  Scroll to the bottom of the home page and under “Headlines” Click on the link “TASD TRACK & FIELD PROJECT”.

In our small community, we know how important alumni are. Out of the 7 current track coaches, 5 are alumni. We coach because we want to give back to our community and hope you do as well. Thank you for your consideration. If you have any questions, or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact me at
